There is no best time of year to visit Orkney; all year round can be particularly stunning and quite often it is possible to experience four seasons in one day.
What is included in the package deal?
· pick up from wherever you arrive in Orkney, to be discussed at the time of your booking or closer to the time of arrival.

· Transfers to ferry or airport on day of checkout
St Magnus Way
· You will be dropped off where you want on the St Magnus Way and picked up at the end of your day. This is every day except the day you arrive in Orkney and the day you leave. As it is myself who serves breakfast and does the private hire, dropping off in the morning can be as late as 9am if other guests are only being served breakfast or indeed yourself. Drop offs can be as early as when the last guests have been served breakfast. Drop offs on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday are to be no later than 09:15 leaving the B&B. Pick ups on these days cannot be before 3pm. Pick ups are not immediate, on certain sections of the walk it may take up to 30 minutes for the driver to get to your location. This can change at different points of the year depending on availability.

What is not included in the package deal?
· please note an evening meal is not included in the package but a list of restaurants can be emailed to you on request prior to your trip and a chance to make a booking
· travel to and from Orkney is not included in the price
· ferry fares to and from Egilsay are not included in the price
· The Saint Magnus Cathedral part of the tour is not an upper-level tour. They only do this themselves on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please get in touch with them direct if this is something you want to do.
Adverse weather conditions and the tour /Getting to Orkney
It is strongly recommended that you take out appropriate holiday/travel insurance prior to your trip. Travel to Orkney can be interrupted by weather and Shorelands, Orkney are not to be held responsible for such disturbances. Furthermore, leaving your vehicle on Mainland Scotland for the time you are in Orkney is done so entirely at your own risk.
You can arrive in and leave Orkney at any time during your first and last day. In addition, there is not a set time that the transfers operate so you will be picked up when needed.
If you arrive before mid-day, unfortunately you will not be able to access your bedroom. You are, however, more than welcome to make full use of the guest lounge until changeovers are complete.
Similarly, if you have a late ferry or flight leaving Orkney on your last day, you can use the guest lounge all day if necessary. In this case, you must vacate your bedroom by 10am.
The set tours at the four sites on Orkney Mainland should not be affected by the weather for most of the year.
In the unlikely event of the Churchill Barriers being closed, it will not be possible to visit the Italian Chapel. In this situation, alternative sites will be visited.
If any of the other three sites are closed owing to unforeseen circumstances, alternative sites will be visited.
A 30% refund will be given at the B&B if weather interrupts the tour entirely. This is only likely to happen if you have booked a day trip to the outer isles and the ferry service is cancelled.
Payments
At the time of your booking a 15% deposit is due.
The full amount of your booking is due 14 days prior to arrival.
If booking within 14 days, full payment is required.
Your booking may be cancelled if full payment is not received 14 days prior to your trip.
Cancellations
You can cancel at any time up to 14 days prior to your trip. The deposit, however, is non refundable
If you cancel within 14 days of your trip, no refund will be given.
